Worst #5: Bone & Joint Center
The header on this page is such a huge distraction from everything else that I wonder if I should sit and read through all the headlines or actually click on what I would be looking for if I was a patient. Also, since the header is flash, it won't work on my mobile device. They should be commended for offering virtual tours of their facilities, but only if it actually worked! The site asked me to download quicktime and I'm not dealing with that just to see a waiting room. Finally, on the homepage they list "a few" of their services, and 20+ bullets is more than "a few" in my book. There is just too much going on on this site.

Best and Worst Websites #4
Best #4: Upworthy
This website's format is basic, clean and to the point. Upworthy is a source for inspirational stories that you can easily share. The home page features a search box so that you can easily find what you're looking for or you can just scroll down and browse. The headlines are short and catchy so that you can decide which story you want to dive in to, and once you do, it's easy to share it on social media with the click of a button. Compliments to Upworthy for an easy to use site with uplifting stories that are sure to lift your spirits.

Worst #3 : The Clove Club
First of all, the home page has nothing on it except the name of the restaurant (which only figured out after exploring for a while). You have to wave your mouse around the page searching for a place to find more information. When you actually find the triangles, the description is so tiny it's almost unreadable. Then comes the 5 second fade in and out between pages, who has the patience for that? Once again the font is incredibly tiny on each page and the entire website is a solid white background with black lettering. I hope their cuisine isn't as bland as their website.

Best and Worst Websites #2
Best #2: SoundCloud
If you need an easy way to upload and share audio files, SoundCloud is the way to go. It's features include an easy to use uploader, community, and you can share your files on all kinds of social networks. The player even works on mobile devices, which is not easy to come by when you're an iphone user like myself. Most importantly, the site is easy to navigate, the homepage tells you what you can do with SoundCloud and makes it easy to sign up and start.

Now that I'm a "blogger" and I'm trying to figure out this whole idea of making a website visually appealing, I thought I would comment on some great and not so great websites out there.
#1 Worst: DS + R
Apparently it's a design studio's website. Vincent Flanders named it #3 on his list of 2013's worst websites. The home page is kind of interesting because you can see all of their projects at once, but it's also overwhelming. What happens if you want to sort by medium or find a particular project? The only sort options are chronological or alphabetical and there is no search box. Then, when you actually click on a project, the pictures scroll through automatically making it difficult to see one at a time without the edge of the next one leaking in. Maybe if I was a designer I would find this site easier to use, but I'm not. Not a fan.
